Happiness Is the Goal

“Do not dwell in the past, nor be anxious for the future. Be here, live in the present moment.”
Siddharta Gotama, the Buddha

“We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.”
Albert Einstein

The Buddha and Einstein were right. The only thing standing between you and happiness is your self-limiting beliefs. They are not the truth about who you really are. It doesn’t matter where these ideas came from – family, trauma, tragedy or loss of faith. You can learn to see yourself differently.

Sober Buddha Counseling teaches you the six life-changing skills of happy people:

1.  How to uncover, discover and discard self-limiting thoughts and actions.

2.  How to tap into the power of your unconscious mind to solve problems.

3.  How to take positive action in the face of fear.

4.  How to use your imagination to solve problems.

5.  How to develop compassion for yourself and others.

6. How to live in the present moment.

Your Sober Buddha Counseling sessions will include the three foundational levels of professional therapeutic work:

Psychological
Talk dialog helps you think about new ways to solve old problems.  New ideas motivate you to take new actions to improve your life situation. Jungian Depth Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing are the most traditional forms of psychological work.

Emotional
Gaining emotional control prevents damaging mood swings. Emotions are irrational and can cause you to over-react to people, places and situations.  You can learn to capitalize on your positive emotions, and keep negative feelings from working against you.

Spiritual
Spiritual counseling adds meaning to your life. You will explore your experience with sacredness, the hidden power of your unconscious mind and the non-physical world. Spiritual work uses techniques including meditation, study of sacred books, and contemplative prayer.
